Parenting Education

Parenting Courses: Evidence based courses including: Circles of Security, Tuning in to Kids, Tuning in to Teens, Bringing Up Great Kids, Parent Effectiveness Training.  

​Circle of Security: aimed at supporting parents and carers of children aged 0-5 years old. Circle of Security focuses on how to support secure attachment in young children. The course teaches parents/caregivers how to recognise and respond to children's emotional needs in order to support secure attachment. It focuses on connection and relationship building with our children in order to recognise the needs behind their behaviours and respond in ways which will be sustainable and effective.  

Tuning in to Kids: aimed at supporting Parents and Carers with Children aged between 5-10 years old. TIK focuses on emotion coaching, reflective parenting, early childhood brain development, and normalising struggles of parenting. TIK is an interactive parenting course with handouts, videos, home activities and scripted role plays to demonstrated and practice Emotion Coaching. Tuning in to Teens: aimed at supporting parents and carers of teens between 11-17 years old. TINT focuses on emotion coaching, reflective parenting, adolescent brain development, and normalising struggles of parenting. TINT is an interactive parenting course with handouts, videos, home activities and scripted role plays to demonstrated and practice Emotion Coaching. Bringing Up Great Kids: Bringing Up Great Kids is a fun and engaging parenting program delivered over six 2-hour sessions for parents and caregivers of children aged 0–12. Grounded in strength-based perspectives, neurobiology, attachment theory, and narrative approaches, the program is designed to strengthen connection and build parental confidence. BUGKS supports parents to better understand their child’s brain development, including reasoning abilities and emotional growth. Through interactive activities and reflection, participants learn practical and mindful strategies to interpret behaviour, recognise underlying needs, and respond more intentionally.

Parent Talks:  We offer a variety of free parent talks over the year, at locations in Caloundra, Baringa, and Beerwah. 

The topics are decided with input and guidance from the community of families we work with in case management, Grandparents as Parents Program, and Playgroup participants, and invite experts to discuss topics related to early childhood and parenting.  

In the past we have arranged for talks on Applying First Aids to babies and young children, First Foods for Babies and toddlers, Fussy eaters, Managing Anxiety in Children, Managing anxiety in Teens, Parenting Neurodivergent children,  Understanding Babies Sleep, Online safety, Love Languages, Dads Toolbox.
